We will join the congregation at St. Luke’s Hoylake at 10.30 a.m. when the preacher will be Rev Gill Newton, current President of the Methodist Conference.

We are very pleased to confirm the appointment of Mrs Samantha Hepworth in the new role of Church & Community Development Lay Worker.  This combines her present role as Church Administrator with that of Community Development.  She commenced her duties in this new capacity on 1st March 2024.

It is with sadness we share the news of the passing on Friday, 1st March of Bill Sheherd.  Bill’s funeral takes place at Landican on Wednesday, 27th March at 11 a.m.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Mabs and all the family at this difficult time.

PLAN OF SERVICES AT WEST KIRBY

Copies of the services to be held at West Kirby over the three months commencing 3rd March are now available.  Please pick up your copy from the table in the foyer.

THURSDAY AFTERNOON FELLOWSHIP

The next meeting of TAF is on 14th March at 2.30 p.m. in the Hilda Shore Room.  This will be a Members Afternoon and the topic will be “Who I would like to invite to dinner – dead or alive?”

AN EVENING WITH THE PRESIDENT OF CONFERENCE

St. Luke’s, Hoylake invite everyone to join them on Saturday, 16th March as they welcome Rev Gill Newton, President of the Methodist Conference.  Gill will be sharing in conversation with Rev Dr Sheryl Anderson, Chair of the Liverpool District.  There will be refreshments from 6.30 p.m. with the conversation beginning at 7 p.m.   See flyer in the foyer. Gill will also be preaching at St. Luke’s at 10.30 a.m. on the 17th March.

LEGO CLUB

The next session in the Church Hall is on Wednesday, 20th March from 3.15 p.m. until 5 p.m.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  All sessions will now be led by Sam Hepworth.

EASTER SUNDAY 31st MARCH

Please bring a small posy of flowers (3-4 small blooms with herbs or greenery) to decorate the cross.  If you want to speak to anyone about how big, speak to either Meg Kershaw or Veronica Wilkinson.

DIAMOND WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Steve & Meg Kershaw will be celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary on the 25th March and would like to invite the congregation to join them for refreshments and cake after the Easter Sunday service on the 31st March.

ADVANCE NOTICE

On Sunday, 19th May we will be celebrating the Church Anniversary.  Our former Minister Rev Jim Dobson will be leading this service which will include communion.  After the service there will be a faith lunch giving everyone the opportunity to catch up with Jim, Marilyn & Simon.

LENT COURSES/SERVICES

MICHAEL’S NEWTON

The final date for this Lent Course being run by Martin Smith is on Tuesday 12th March from 7-8 p.m.  It is an update of a course that he ran in 2020 but did not finish because of the covid lockdown.  See flyers in the foyer for further details.

AGNES & ST. ANDREW’S

An invitation is extended to all to join St. Andrew’s and St. Agnes who are holding joint services during Lent focussing on “The Stations of the Cross”.  The services will take place on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and the remaining dates and venues are:

12th March         –  St. Agnes

19th March         –  St. Andrew’s

26th March         –  St. Agnes

WEST KIRBY METHODIST – ZOOM COURSE LED BY REV NOEL SHARP

Noel will be leading the remaining stand-alone one hour zoom sessions on the following Tuesdays from 7.30 p.m. until 8.30 p.m. on the theme “Act on Poverty” with resources produced by Christian Aid:
