NOTICES

THURSDAY AFTERNOON FELLOWSHIP

The next meeting of TAF will be on 14th November at 2.30 p.m. in the Hilda Shore Room when it will be a members’ afternoon.

COP 29 FAITH & CLIMATE

Action is being taken locally to support COP and its objectives and all are invited to join an inspiring event at Birkenhead Town Hall on Friday, 15th November from 6-8 p.m. There will be discussions on how faith communities can act locally to support the goals of COP.  Together we will explore ways to address climate change and work towards a sustainable future.  Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and make a positive impact on our plant.

CEILIDH AT ST. LUKE’S

St. Luke’s Methodist Church are holding a ceilidh as a “four churches” social event on Saturday, 16th November starting at 6 p.m.  The evening includes a two-course hot dinner as well as music from the live ban “Blackthorn Root” (Kathryn Fagan’s band) guiding us all in ceilidh dancing.  Tickets are £3 each and are available from Sam so please see her in church.

LEGO CLUB

The next session in the Church Hall is on Wednesday, 13th November from 3.15 p.m. until 5 p.m.  The Club is suitable for children from Reception to Year 6.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.

LIVERPOOL HARMONIC GOSPEL CHOIR

This Choir will be performing a concert in our church on Friday, 29th November at 7.30 p.m.  Tickets £10 in advance or £12 on the door.  See Sam Hepworth or David Cross for tickets.  Spread the word and let your friends and family know about this event.  Flyers are available in the foyer.

Offers of raffle prizes and cakes for the refreshments would be much appreciated.  Please speak to Sam about either of these requests.

Proceeds will be for the church’s new initiative “Make Lunch” starting after Christmas supporting families in the community who often rely on their children getting free school meals during term time.

SHOEBOXES

We managed to fill 214 shoeboxes last week.  Thank you for all your help.  Especial thanks to my wonderful band of volunteers who packed, stacked and transported boxes to the warehouse.  We now need to transport them to their destination and this costs £3 per box.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.  This year our boxes are going to Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, Bosnia and Georgia.
