RIDING LIGHTS THEATRE COMPANY
A new play entitled “Cups on a String” will be performed by Riding Lights Theatre Company at St. Luke’s Methodist Church, Hoylake at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 30th October 2024.
This play involves Joe who is 11 and finds home hard and Heather 57 who has a comfortable life and home. It is a warm-hearted and moving play developed from true stories. It is about playfulness, listening and laughter and how risk-taking and trust can lead to growth and transformation.
Tickets are £15 with concessions £10.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED
Some of you may have noticed that the area surrounding the church is looking very neglected with weeds, moss & leaves covering large areas. It has been suggested we hold a gardening morning on Saturday 26h October between 10 a.m. & 12 noon (weather permitting). If you are willing and able to help and have suitable garden tools please sign the sheet in the foyer.
Many thanks
Elaine Phillips
SHOEBOXES CRAFT GROUP
We need your help.
We are having a day to fill shoeboxes on 29th October. Last year we managed to fill over 200 boxes and aim to do the same this year. We need the following:
Soap & toothbrushes
Coloured pencils & felt tips
Tennis balls, small toys, musical instruments such as harmonicas
Hair accessories, combs, mittens & gloves
Nail varnish & makeup for teenage girls
Small games especially any suitable for teenage boys
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY SWEETS
We support the charity Teams4U and this year our boxes will be going to Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Bosnia & Romania. The current need is still extraordinary, and the power of the shoebox has never faded.
I will be in church each Sunday. Please see Gill Kilshaw or myself if you have any queries. There are also a number of boxes that need covering (plenty of wrapping paper available) so if you can help pick up a box or two from the back of church.
Thank you.
Sally & Gill
