CHURCH FAMILY NEWS

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of June Kennedy, who recently moved from the Wirral to be near her family in Shropshire.  At the request of the family, June’s funeral service will be held here at church on Monday, 24th March at 2.00 p.m.  All who knew June are welcome to attend this service.

Sally Brimble and her daughters Claire & Julie would like to thank everyone for the support, messages, cards and prayers they have received following the death of Ken.  These have been much appreciated.

LEGO CLUB

The next session in the Church Hall is on Wednesday, 19th March from 3.15 p.m. until 5 p.m.  The Club is suitable for children from Reception to Year 6.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.

GIFT AID SMALL DONATIONS SCHEME (GASDS)

For those of you who may not be aware, our Church can claim gift on mall cash donations up to a maximum of £8,000 in each financial year.  Currently we are falling behind in achieving this target and everyone is encouraged to help reach £8,000 in whatever they feel able e.g. by increasing their giving on a Sunday or at any other church events when donations are welcome.

PLAN OF SERVICES AT WEST KIRBY

Copies of the new Plan of Services at West Kirby covering the three months commencing Sunday 2nd March are now available.  Pick up your copy from the table in the foyer.

WIRRAL FOODBANK – GIVE IN LENT

In the six weeks of Lent, the Foodbank will provide emergency food parcels for local individuals and families facing hardship.  Donate one or two items from the shopping list below and put in the box provided in the foyer:

Tinned meat/fish, Tinned veg/fruit, Tinned potatoes, Tinned puddings, Cooking sauces, Coffee/tea,

Milk UHT/powdered, Soup/Cup-a-soup, Biscuits, Jam

UKULELE CONCERT AT GREASBY METHODIST CHURCH

Heswall Ukulele Group will be performing at Greasby Methodist Church on Friday, 11th April beginning at 7.00 p.m.  Tickets are £5 (including refreshments) and are available from the Church Office – 0151 677 5127 or from June Boardman – 07588115047.

Proceeds will be for MWiB’s two Special Projects.  The first is Stick ’n’ Step which supports children with cerebral palsy and the second is The Crossing Point which serves people suffering domestic abuse.
