THANK YOU FROM WIRRAL COUNCIL’S RESPONSE TEAM

Following our recent Gift Service for young people, John Turner has received a thank you email from Mark expressing thanks on behalf of the Team for the gifts so generously donated by our congregation.  The Team have been profoundly touched and our gifts will make a significant difference to the young people they support.  Our gifts will not only meet practical needs but will also serve as a reminder to these young people that they are valued and not alone in their struggles.

ACTION FOR CHILDREN

This year, by way of a change, we have Christmas Tree decorations to write to the church instead of sending individual cards.  They come in the form of baubles and trees.  Please take one, write your greeting on it, then tie it to the tree in the foyer for everyone to see.  If you would like to make a Christmas donation to Action for Children, there will be a collection box in the foyer.

The offertory on Christmas Day will also be for Action for Children.

Many thanks

Catherine Jackson

APPEAL FROM ASYLUM LINK

Asylum Link are asking for donations of sleeping bags that are no longer needed to help keep warm those asylum seekers who have not been allocated any accommodation.  Please speak to Erica Rimmer if you can help.

UPDATE ON SHOEBOXES

We have sent 214 boxes from our group.  A total of 3386 boxes have been checked and sent from the Wirral group.  Thank you to our Craft Group and Spectrum ladies who helped in the warehouse.  It was very difficult this year with so few helpers from other groups.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to fill our boxes and to the cost of transportation.  £600 was donated by our church community.

I know it’s a bit soon, but please can I ask you to recycle Christmas cards by giving them to the Craft Group and any unused Christmas wrapping paper.  There will be a box in the church foyer.  Please note the Craft Group will be resuming on Wednesday 8th January.

Wishing all the church family
