RIDING LIGHTS THEATRE COMPANY
A new play entitled “Cups on a String” will be performed by Riding Lights Theatre Company at St. Luke’s Methodist Church, Hoylake at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 30th October 2024.
This play involves Joe who is 11 and finds home hard and Heather 57 who has a comfortable life and home. It is a warm-hearted and moving play developed from true stories. It is about playfulness, listening and laughter and how risk-taking and trust can lead to growth and transformation. Tickets are £15 with concessions £10. CHURCH COUNCIL
The next meeting of Church Council is on Wednesday, 30th October in the Hilda Shore Room at 2 p.m. This meeting is open to all but only members of CC may vote on any matters.
STRICTLY METHODANCE
The next session will be on Wednesday, 30th October from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Anyone interested and would like further information they should contact Richard Davis on 0151 309 2582.
BIBLE STUDY/PRAYER GROUP
Eleanor Macarthur will be hosting the next meeting on Thursday, 31st October at 6 Monks Way, West Kirby from 10.15 a.m. until 11.15 a.m. followed by coffee, biscuits and chat until 12 noon and then half an hour of prayer time.
TECHY COFFEE
The next session will be on Friday, 1st November for those needing help with their ipads, laptops, iphones etc.
METHODIST WOMEN IN BRITAIN – AUTUMN GATHERING
You are invited to the Merseyside Gathering which takes place at Moreton Methodist Church on Monday, 4th November. Drinks will be available from 11 a.m. with the Gathering starting at 11.30 a.m. and concluding at 3 p.m. Please bring a packed lunch (drinks will be provided).
There will be a time for worship, fellowship and sharing news from near and far plus the presentation of a cheque for AGLIT (Adolescent Girls Literacy in Malawi. We will also be voting on the choice of our next Special Project.
Rev Lily Twist will be the speaker and her talk is entitled “The Men in my Life”. Do come if you are able especially if it is your first time.
CARERS SOUP ‘N’ SUPPORT
The next lunch will be on Thursday 7th November from 12 noon until 2 p.m. The speaker will be Angie from Home Instead.
SHOEBOXES
We will be filling shoeboxes on Tuesday 29th October, and we are pretty confident that we will fill 200 boxes. Once we have filled shoeboxes, we need to transport them and this will cost £3 per box. Any donations towards this cost would be greatly appreciated.

BIG QUIZ NIGHT
West Kirby URC are holding a quiz on Saturday, 16th November 7 p.m. for 7.30 p.m. All welcome including accompanied children. Come in a team or on your own. Light refreshments are included. Suggested donation is £5 with proceeds going to Tearfund.
LIVERPOOL HARMONIC GOSPEL CHOIR
This Choir will be performing a concert in our church on Friday, 29th November at 7.30 p.m. Tickets £10 in advance or £12 on the door. See Sam Hepworth for tickets. Flyers are available in the foyer.
Offers of raffle prizes and cakes for the refreshments would be much appreciated. Please speak to Sam about either of these requests.
Proceeds will be for the church’s new initiative “Make Lunch” starting after Christmas supporting families in the community who often rely on their children getting free school meals during term time.
