NOTICES

CHURCH FAMILY

A service of celebration for the life of Brian Buck will be held at church on Tuesday, 4th November at 1 p.m.  The cremation will have already taken place and Brian’s family would like everyone to come together in celebration of his life.  They request that those attending wear colourful clothing and all are invited to join the family after the service at 21st Amendment Restaurant, The Quadrant, Hoylake, CH47 2EE for refreshments and conversation.

PLAN OF SERVICES AT WEST KIRBY

Copies of the Plan covering the three months commencing 7th December are now available.  Pick up your copy from the table in the foyer.

SHOEBOXES

Last week we managed to fill 218 shoeboxes.  A big thank you to all who helped and all who contributed items and donated money towards transport costs.  We managed to raise nearly £100 from the bring and buy and cake stall at the Friday coffee morning.  Boxes are now at the warehouse on the first stage of their journey to Eastern Europe.

Thank you

Sally Brimble

COMMUNITY LUNCH

The next Community Lunch is on Wednesday, 5th November and this time the two-course lunch will be soup followed by mild chilli and rice, rather than main course and dessert.

Please remember to arrive between 12.15 and 12.30 and NOT earlier than 12.15 as this is starting to cause congestion in the foyer when Yvonne is trying to run the Food Hub at the same time.  Please let Sam know if you would like to book a place, so she can add your name to the list.

THURSDAY AFTERNOON FELLOWSHIP

The next meeting of TAF will be on Thursday, 13th November at 2.30 p.m. in the Hilda Shore Room.  Catherine Watts will be leading an interactive session on cyber awareness – new technology risks, opportunities and the important of resiliency.  This is an open invitation to all our church family.

FRIDAY COFFEE MORNING SUPPORT

For some years now, Arthur has kindly come in almost every Friday and made coffee and tea and set everything out.  He arrives at 9 a.m. each Friday getting everything prepared and is willing to keep going for the time being.  However, he really needs to be away at the end of the morning before most people are ready to leave.

I am putting out a plea for volunteers willing to help just with the final clear up stage of the Friday Coffee Morning.  This would involve putting the final dishwasher load through and draining the machine, wiping the kitchen surfaces and the tables and making sure the hall is left ready for coffee after the Sunday service.

If you feel able to help in this way, please let David Cross or Sam know.

Thank you in advance.

Sam Hepworth

 AUTUMN GATHERING

Moreton Methodist Church will be hosting the Autumn Gathering on Monday, 3rd November from 11.15 a.m. until 3.15 p.m.  Bring a packed lunch – drinks will be provided.

There will be a time for worship, fellowship and news round with updates on our Special Projects.

The guest speaker will be Rev Nicola Langton-Miller (Methodist Minister, Chester & Stoke District & former Children’s Worker within the Wirral Circuit).

All are encouraged to attend.

COFFEE MORNING AT GREASBY METHODIST

MWiB ladies at Greasby Methodist Church are organising a Christmas Coffee morning on Tuesday, 25th November from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. There will be a variety of table with cakes, toiletries plus Christmas gifts and decorations.  Funds raised will be for MWiB’s Special Projects.

Items for inclusion in the notices should be sent to the Editor, Elaine Phillips,

Flat 3 Lyndhurst, 82 Meols Drive, West Kirby, CH48 5DD (Tel: 07733 057 315) or emailed to elaine5649.ep@gmail.com by 11.59 p.m. on the Tuesday preceding the Sunday of publication.  Any additional notices may be handed to the Steward on duty to be read out to the congregation.
