A reminder that Marian Holden’s funeral service takes place at Landican on Tuesday, 2nd May at 10 a.m. followed by a Service of Thanksgiving here at church at 10.30 a.m.

TECHY COFFEE

The next session with volunteers from Age UK for those who need help with their ipads, laptops, phones etc. is on Friday, 5th May.  Age UK now ask for a donation of £1 per person.

EUROVISION ECUMENTICAL ACT OF WORSHIP

This special service takes place at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Liverpool on Wednesday, 10th May at 7 p.m.  There will be performances by the Salvation Army Brass Band, New Song Wirral Band and the joint choir of Liverpool Cathedral and Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.

St. Luke’s Hoylake have booked a 75 seater double-decker bus which leaves St. Luke’s at 5.30 p.m.  The cost will be £2.  If anyone from West Kirby would like to go by bus they should email Cate Warbrick Community Lay Worker at St. Luke’s at catherine.warbrick@sky.com or phone 0151 632 6524 by the 30th April.

THURSDAY AFTERNOON FELLOWSHIP

The next meeting of TAF will be at 2.30 p.m. on 11th May in the Hilda Shore Room.  The meeting begins with a short AGM followed by a Coronation Afternoon Tea.

ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING

The ACM will take place after morning worship on Sunday, 14th May when there will be an opportunity to appoint/re-appoint church officers, representatives to Church Council, Stewards and the Church Leadership Team.  Nominations for these roles should be sent to Anne Cross, Church Council Secretary, by Friday, 12th May.  Anne’s email is anne@deesidelaundry.co.uk  All are encouraged to attend.

CARERS SOUP ‘N’ SUPPORT

The next lunch takes place on Thursday, 18th May from 12 noon to 2 p.m. when there will be a talk entitled “Health Junction – Resilience Training”.  All carers and former carers are very welcome.

CORONATION BIG LUNCH

St. Luke’s Hoylake are taking part in the celebrations by holding a bring and share lunch on Sunday, 7th May from 11.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. This will be a community event and friends and family from West Kirby are warmly invited to join them for food, crafts, music and bouncy castle fun.

THANK YOU

Nicky Mullin and 2nd West Kirby Guides wish to say a big thank you to the congregation at West Kirby for their support for the recent Girl Guide visit to Gambia.  Sexual health training was given to nurses at a number of local clinics.  Underwear, sanitary and birth control products (and even a ball for local children) were distributed with the help of local women.  The trip was a great success – thank you.
