UPDATE REGARDING CHURCH COLLECTIONS
The Worship Group have met and would like to clarify about how and when we collect any offerings made by the congregation.
There will be a collection box with a slot at the top at the back of church on top of the bookcase on the right as you enter church. We are moving from a plate to a box to offer more confidentiality.
When there is a communion service there will be two boxes (clearly labelled) on the bookcase. One the usual offertory box and the other is for the Benevolent Fund, donations from which are used at the Minister’s discretion in response to emergency situations to meet local needs. We have recently been able to donation £850 to Wirral Ark, while still retaining £500 in the Benevolent Fund to meet emergency local needs.
We appreciate that many already donate by standing order through the bank, but also some prefer to give at times through the collection plate. If you would like to donate by standing order the church’s bank details are:
Bank: Co-operative Bank
A/C Name: West Kirby Methodist Church
A/C No. 67412262. Sort Code: 08 92 99
WHAT ARE WE PRAYING FOR AT THE MOMENT?
- The people of Japan after this week’s typhoon causing severe flooding and landslides including loss of life.
- World leaders (including Andy Burnham) meeting this week at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
CAFÉ WORSHIP
If Café Worship is to continue in its current format additional volunteers are needed each month to help set up in the Church Hall. Please add your name to the sheet in the foyer if you would like to join a rota to help in any way or speak to Ann Taylor for further information.
Items for inclusion in the notices should be sent to the Editor, Elaine Phillips,
Flat 3 Lyndhurst, 82 Meols Drive, West Kirby, CH48 5DD (Tel: 07733 057 315) or emailed to elaine5649.ep@gmail.com by 11.59 p.m. on the Tuesday preceding the Sunday of publication. Any additional notices may be handed to the Steward on duty to be read out to the congregation
