NOTICES
WHAT ARE WE PRAYING FOR AT THE MOMENT?
- Our local Food Bank which, in December, was “struggling to keep up with demand”. Pray that adequate donations keep coming and that able volunteers come forward to support this vital work.
- The resourcing of our community work here at the church, especially finding volunteers who are able to support what we would like to achieve.
- The Wirral Circuit, as it looks to resource its churches for the future.
COMMUNION STEWARDS
Additional helpers are needed to join the Communion Stewards Rota. Currently there are very few helpers which means current Stewards are having to juggle the days they are needed.
It is not an onerous task and the more folk on the rota the less often they are needed. Please speak to Ronnie Wilkinson (Tel: 0151 394 3504) if you can help.
LENT SERIES WITH DEACON ELLIE
Further to the previous notice the following is an update on the sessions being held by Deacon Ellie focussing on “Living, Sharing, Telling the Good News”:
The four sessions began on the 23rd February and will be held in person each Monday at 10.30 a.m. at Moreton Methodist Church. The remaining session will be held on the 16th March.
Ellie will also run the same session on a Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. on zoom and the link for this is https://zoom.us/j/94209585834?
Password=b7xorILIGROqqfrpgicWIYqgXX92bi.1
The dates for the online sessions began on 24th February and the final session is on 17th March. Everyone welcome either in person or online or both.
Ellie has originally considered doing a third option, in person at either St. Luke’s or West Kirby, but it proved difficult to get a time slot that would work for both Ellie and either of the churches in terms of availability.
Hope you can make it to either Moreton or via zoom.
BIBLE STUDY GROUP
I committed to restarting the Bible Study Group earlier this year in the light of us sadly losing Eleanor, who had hosted this Group in recent times. I have been speaking with Cate at St. Luke’s as there has also been recent demand there for a daytime Bible Study Group. So, we will do a joint Group, alternating venues. West Kirby will host once a month, and St. Luke’s also once a month, so the Group will meet fortnightly, with Cate and I alternating facilitating.
We have decided to launch the new Group after the Lent Sessions finish, so people may wish to do the Lent Series then naturally flow into the Bible Study Group. More information to follow nearer the time.

PLANTERS
Does anyone have a surplus piece of decking wood at least 20 inches long? John Barnett has kindly offered to repair the broken planter in front of church but needs a piece of decking wood to do so. Please let John know if you have some.
LEPROSY MISSION – POSTAGE STAMPS
Many thanks to everyone who has donated used postage stamps for the Leprosy Mission. Unfortunately, we have learned that the Mission no longer accepts stamps. We are grateful to those of you who have helped us in trying to find other church charities which might be able to make use of such donations, but we have not found any for which this would be cost-effective (transport costs exceed benefits). We cannot therefore accept any more stamps. Our church has supported the Leprosy Mission for many years and we hope to continue doing so.

WIRRAL FOOD BANK
Help support the food bank with donations this Lent. In the six weeks of Lent the food bank will provide emergency food parcels for local people and families facing hardship.
The amount of help needed is outstripping the donations they are receiving. Please donate an item or two from the following list:
Tinned custard, Tinned fruit, Tinned rice pudding
Tinned vegetables, Tinned potatoes,
Tinned meat, Tinned spaghetti
Toothbrushes, Shampoo, Sanitary towels
(Items may be left in the box in the foyer)
Items for inclusion in the notices should be sent to the Editor, Elaine Phillips,
Flat 3 Lyndhurst, 82 Meols Drive, West Kirby, CH48 5DD (Tel: 07733 057 315) or emailed to elaine5649.ep@gmail.com by 11.59 p.m. on the Tuesday preceding the Sunday of publication. Any additional notices may be handed to the Steward on duty to be read out to the congregation.
